About CENTURY CONCRETE DESIGN LLC
We at Century Concrete design LLC. are a family-owned and operated concrete contractor, servicing the
Rutherford and Williamson Counties. We work in the residential and commercial sectors of the
construction industry. We are a cast-in-place concrete constructor, with a focus on new concrete
slabs, decorative concrete slabs, stairs, structural, and exposed concrete needs.
Our History
The history of Century Concrete Design LLC actually starts with another company in a different
country. Our Founder began his journey in Canada where he was born and where he founded
Lions Gate Construction, on December 10th of 2010. At that time, he worked in many areas of
residential construction, new homes and renovations; predominantly focusing on the high-end
new home niche market, that are marked by very detailed designs and complex construction.
During that time he completed everything from kitchen renovations, forming concrete, additions,
concrete sidewalks, underpinning, framing custom homes, decks, fences, machine work and
hardwood flooring.
In 2014 he decided to make a distinct pivot in his business, while he had been involved in many
areas of construction, the area he had the greatest passion for and that was a fast growing sector
was concrete work. It was in that year he decided to make concrete work his sole focus in the
high-end residential forming and concrete slab areas. In March of 2014 he purchased our first
small set forms, which allowed him to take on more concrete forming projects that he otherwise
wouldn’t have been able to complete before. He began to move in this new direction as he
worked on homes with massive basement slabs, complex walkouts stairs, planters, suspended
garage floors, landscape walls, stamped and decorative concrete.
By 2015 his business had grown significantly in the concrete industry and so did his team. He
continued focusing on concrete work while actively increasing his knowledge and further
developed their skill base. He expanded further, completing their first commercial concrete
project in Bolton ON, and from there continued doing basement additions, slab work, decorative
projects, as well as taking on some small excavation contracts. With the purchase of additional
concrete forms later that year, they expanded their potential for larger concrete foundation
projects.
Then in 2016, while still working in residential and commercial concrete, he adjusted their focus;
this time aggressively pursuing projects in the commercial and public sectors. Pounding the
pavement they began outside sales to reach more general contractors and customers with their
company’s unique service - to further grow their business. They moved beyond a referrals-only
business and began to actively advertise. It was during this time, their business successfully
completed projects in the industrial supply chain market, where timing and scheduling are
paramount factors that require precise planning and execution.
Beginning in 2017 they reaped the reward of their investment, growing almost 100% in total
revenue in just one year! Their company was awarded larger scale contracts and during this time
they completed some of their most notable projects like integral restorative work on St Marks
church in Hamilton, new park washroom buildings, new restaurant buildings, sidewalks and
ramps for accessibility upgrades on commercial buildings, accessibility upgrades to existing
public facilities, residential additions, underpinning existing homes and more.
Up until the end of 2019 they steadily grew and added team members, as well as acquired more
equipment. Fortunately, they were able to keep working through the massive COVID disruption
of 2020 and in spite of the ever-changing markets, the company continued to prosper. However,
early in 2021, our founder developed a new vision for his life, family and company. Later that
year our founder negotiated the sale of Lions Gate Construction Inc to a strategic buyer local to
the business. Lions Gate is still in operation to this day and has continued to grow on the
foundation laid by our founder.
In 2022, after a one year transition period with Lions Gate Construction, our founder was free to
move to the next chapter in his story: a new vision and destination. On December 16th, 2022 just
over 12 years after starting his first company our founder created Century Concrete LLC.
Although this is a recent venture for the actual company, the legacy of passion, craftsmanship
and a desire for a better future continue. Our organization is committed to continuing what was
started all those years ago and for decades more to come. Part II is not set in stone but is being
cast in place.

Our business has grown largely due to the referrals of satisfied customers we have been serving from the very start.
FROM THE FOUNDER
I have always been in or around the construction industry. In fact, some of my earliest memories
are of going to a building site with my father at the age of three! For as long as I can remember it
was always my ambition to own a construction company, and to those who know me, it comes as
no surprise since I come from a long line of carpenters. My Nonno (grandfather) who was a
carpenter, was born in Rosato Italy in the early 1900s. Growing up through the great depression
he moved to England for work. He married, had his family, and then moved to Ontario. My father
started his own construction business here in Ontario in the early 1980s now he and my brother
build custom homes of the highest caliber in the western GTA. I have lived and breathed
construction my whole life and I have no intention of doing anything else; this is where my
passion and skills converge. As a child, being homeschooled afforded me the opportunity to
accompany my father on visits to construction sites and see buildings in action. Many Saturdays
of my childhood were spent on site with my father, as I took every chance my mother would
allow being at work with my father once school was out for the day. I watched as my farther built
one of the largest homes in Canada, which was built completely with Insulated Concrete forms
(ICF). When I was nine, I started building furniture for friends and family. At the age of 11, I
started working summers in construction as a general laborer cleaning, sweeping, moving
materials, disposing of garbage, demolition, and all the while learning anything I could about
construction. I worked for a summer in home renovations with my uncle and learned even more
about building and remodeling.
At 14 years old I began a carpentry apprenticeship during the summers and that continued part
time through the school year. The apprenticeship was with a carpenter who did high-quality,
custom home framing and forming. It was at that company I furthered my skills dramatically
through hands-on building experience over the next three years. After finishing high-school, I
then began working with another carpenter whose business focused on renovation from the
ground up; concrete block, concrete footings and slabs all the way to installing trim, doors, tile
and hardwood floors. After spending a year rounding out my skills and increasing my
knowledge, I took the leap. At the age of 18 I opened my own construction company; on
December 10th, 2010 I registered my first sole proprietorship with the name Lions Gate
Construction. A lot has happened since then and I have learned so much about construction.
We grew as a business, moved into different sectors of construction and began specializing in
concrete work. I have expanded my personal knowledge of business, contracts, concrete,
engineering, leadership, as well as different techniques and products to meet the challenges in
our industry. I did a great deal of professional development in the area of leadership and
business, mainly through practical courses and reading leadership books from world class
leaders; my passion for what I do has never been stronger.
In 2021 when I made the decision to explore selling my business I had no idea all the things that
would be in store for me. After the sale was completed I looked to the horizon and thought long
and hard about what I would do and where I would go next. Having lost heart in the country I
called home, my family and I decided to move the a place were freedom and opportunity co-exist
like nowhere else in the world. After settling on middle Tennessee and mapping the immigration
process, we set to work on creating a new company. A company built on all the lessons leant and
the well earned victories of the past 12 years. While it was, strictly speaking, a new business it
has an old soul. I have learned so much through my experience and from so many amazing
people over the last decade. It is my prayer and ambition to build an even greater company than
what I had before so that we can bless our team as well as our customers by producing lasting
workmanship and building relationships that endure.
